Remembering 9.11

Will you ever forget precisely where you were at the moment of learning about the plane crash into the World Trade Center? Then in shock and utter disbelief except for the truth of the images on tv or being relayed by radio, realizing, making the immediate connection that there were people in that plane, people in that tower. Then again, learning of the second crash into the second tower. No accident. Terrorist attack. Won't it be embedded in your memory and heart forever? Then again to realize flight 93 was in the hands of terrorists, another plane slicing into the Pentagon and then the fate of flight 93 in a field in Shanksville, PA.

Panic, suffering and courage we can only imagine. The fallen were our brothers and sisters and on that day, we as Americans were one. Black, white, asian, hispanic, mexican, on this day of unspeakable tragedy, we came together. In the days that followed we came together. We were Americans and amid evil and great darkness, we glimpsed amazing brotherly love and compassion. May the souls of those gone be at peace, may the ones they left be surrounded by comfort and love and and may we never forget.
Romans 8:35, 37-39 (NIV)"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
