Sunday brought sunny blue skies our way, but oddly an eerie surge of wind.
By 2pm on Sunday, we sat watching trees come down around us and then lost power as the winds reached almost 80mph here.
Little did we know what a major event this would be. Duke energy reports that 1.9 million customers in our area were without power and half that still.
We had lots of time on our hands and much to be grateful for as we ate around candlelight. We still had each other, our home, and thankfully were spared any real tree damage. (Although the cleanup was tremendous and Brendan worked all day with his new chainsaw!)
Our power returned on Monday at 9am! We were the lucky ones. Still, many will not have power until the weekend and today was the 2nd day the kids were home from school.
As we wait to learn if school we be opened tomorrow, we are so grateful for our blessings and pray for those who have lost their homes in Texas and struggle with so many losses.
Thanks for your prayers.
